Chapter Four

Dr. Stone waited outside his old house. Although it hadn’t been his in years, he still felt a sense of ownership to it. He couldn’t let go of the memories hiding within. Ever since his departure, his ex-wife and brother had claimed it for themselves.

Two weeks of Dominatrix training passed since his discussion with Jane. Each day, the curiosity to face his ex burned hotter. Stoked by the mere possibility of freeing himself from the chains of failure, he longed to be able to love again.

Though up to that moment, he couldn’t pull the trigger. You’re a coward! He’d mentally flog himself with those words on a daily basis. He feared a fall from the tightrope of hearts would break him for good.

During those two weeks of Mistress training, he taught Jane how to properly fling the whip, though it had yet to be used. A paddle and crop were introduced to the scene. Mistress Doe immersed herself in a world of lifestyle words and definitions. The mysterious cuckold was still most intriguing to her.

Dr. Stone watched his sub begin to fall under Jane’s dominance as the Dominatrix slowly became worthy of following. Joshua Stone still couldn’t escape his ex-wife’s shadow. A mental lock remained on his heart. No matter how hard he tried to exert his right to love, he remained a prisoner.

With nowhere else to go, he forced himself from his car to the ex’s doorstep. It was a ranch-style house, quaint and homely. He rang the bell. The door slowly opened. His ex-wife stood before him, her blond hair and body-shape resembling Lori Hale. “Hello Stacy.”

“Josh! It’s so good to see you again. It’s been…a long time.”

“It has.”

“Come in…please,” she said.

He nodded, entering the house. Once inside, an odd warmth overcame him. It feels like…home. To his surprise, the decor wasn’t much different. The place still had a deep familiarity, as if he’d never relinquished it.

An even greater surprise filled him, feeling a pair of familiar arms wrap his neck. He shut his eyes, feeling his ex-wife’s embrace seduce his heart. I’m not sure if I want to fuck her or strangle her…not in the good way. Maybe both? Is it lust or nausea I feel? Damn, I’m a fucking mess. No wonder I can’t help myself. I’m a walking contradiction.

Joshua Stone broke the embrace. “Is he here?”

“No. Your brother Kyle’s at work. It’s just me…for the next few hours,” she said seductively.

The dangerously naughty gaze made Joshua feel even worse. “I…I should go.”

He turned, her hand touched his shoulder. “You didn’t come for your brother…did you?”

“No,” he said. “To be honest, I don’t know who I came for.”

“Can we talk?”

“Sure,” he said, thinking, What harm could come from that?

“Like old times,” she said with a wicked smile. Stacy Stone led her ex-husband to the couch. “Can I get you a drink? A beer…maybe something…harder?”

“No, morning drinking’s not my style.”

“Right…being with your brother all these years…it’s refreshing to see someone with self-control,” she said cryptically. The message wasn’t lost on Joshua’s observant ears.
